Teathering the iPhone has been a touchy subject, since AT&T has yet to follow through with it’s promise of teathering. AT&T originally promised this ability by the end of 2009. But so far, AT&T has disappointed once again. That’s why I have used a variety of apps to teather my laptop to my iPhone.
My favorite: MyWi, available from the Rock Your Phone installer. If you are unfamiliar with Rock Your Phone, check them out here: www.rockyourphone.com. The downside is you have to be jailbroken. The upside is you don’t have to deal with creating an adhoc network, and it broadcasts a wifi network which is easy to connect to. MyWi comes with a free 10 day trial, and after that costs $9.99. For you cheap fucks out there, it’s also available on some of the cracked app sources on Cydia. But you’ll have to find those on your own. Here’s some screenies:
Thanks for recommending MyWi for iPhone. Works easy and well for teathering. Wonderful configuration options as well. Worth every penny.
Also waaay better than paying extra $$ per month for AT&T teathering, which is still unavailable.
